STAX Engineering has entered into an exclusive service agreement with AMPORTS, a leader in the North American auto processing industry, to provide advanced emissions capture and control services at the Port of Benicia. This partnership is designed to serve all auto carriers docking at the port, integrating STAX’s cutting-edge emissions control technology directly into daily operations. This initiative marks a significant step forward in environmental responsibility for the port, which handles approximately 260,000 imported vehicles annually, representing about 20% of the vehicles imported by sea into California.

Vee Kachroo, CEO of AMPORTS, emphasized the importance of reducing at-berth exhaust emissions, stating that this collaboration allows the port community to meet environmental goals effectively. STAX’s technology, backed by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), is capable of removing 99% of particulate matter and 95% of nitrogen oxides from ship emissions, offering a no-maintenance solution that enhances local air quality without requiring modifications to existing vessels. The success of this technology at the Port of Benicia could serve as a model for other ports globally, aiming to balance operational efficiency with environmental sustainability.
